I’ve just finished watching the documentary “Free Solo.” A remarkable achievement of the human spirit. A mix of courage and vulnerability from which we can learn a lot about dedication and hard work.
There is one thought of free solo climber Alex Honnold that caught my attention.
”I think that the free soloing mentality is pretty close to warrior culture, where you give something 100% focus because your life depends on it.” (Alex Honnold)
What if every project we set our minds into was like doing a free solo on El Capitan? The learning mind has this warrior spirit, or – at least – I think it should. When we set ourselves the goal of learning anything because it’s an intrinsic part of being human, we should give 100%. We should think our life depends on it. It is the mentality which takes even the smallest thing in our lives and makes it a great achievement.
